ZCTU Condems The Arrest Of Journalist Zenzele Ndebele
The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has condemned the arrest of “Gukurahundi journalist”, Zenzele Ndebele.
Ndebele was arrested on Thursday in Bulawayo at State House where he had gone to attend a meeting between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and civil society leaders. In a statement issued on Friday, the ZCTU said:
We strongly condemn the arrest one of our fearless journalist Zenzele Ndebele the Director of CITE ZW. This is in no way different from the repression, intimidation and abuse trade union leaders and civil society leaders have been facing since independence. We shall overcome.
FeedbackNdebele has produced two documentaries on the 1980s Gukurahundi genocide. At one point, he was called by the police for questioning at the Bulawayo Central Police Station.
