People Who Demanded $70K Before Going To Chimanimani Given 72 Hour Ultimatum
Ali Naka has threatened to name and shame individuals who demanded and got paid $70 000 before going to Chimanimani after Cyclone Idai struck.
Naka has given the individuals 72 hours to return the money. Naka is a Zimbabwean businessman who has worked with various organisations as head of marketing. He is also a prominent Twitter personality and political commentator. Writiing on Twitter, Naka said:
Those who demanded and got paid $70 000 before going to Chimanimani, have 72 hours to return it to the State Coffers before we name and Shame.
FeedbackWhile it is not clear who Naka is referring to, a ministerial delegation was dispatched on Sunday to assess the damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Idai in Manicaland, particularly Chimanimani which is the worst affected. The delegation comprised of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement Minister and Acting Defence Minister Perrance Shiri, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Dr Sekai Nzenza and Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Joel Biggie Matiza. Also members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) were deployed to help with rescue efforts.
