ZANU PF Mocked For 'Regrouping Old Guard Deadwood'
Former Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Professor Jonathan Moyo has mocked the ruling ZANU PF party for celebrating the return of Didymus Mutasa and Ambrose Mutinhiri to the party. Said Prof. Moyo:
Zanu PF is Zimbabwe’s political graveyard with the old-guard-deadwood regrouping in the name of restorative politics at Shake-Shake building; while new millennials take on a new transformational agenda elsewhere!
ZANU PF has opened its doors to former party stalwarts who fell out of favour with former President Robert Mugabe, and even after his fall in 2017.
Didymus Mutasa was expelled from the party in 2014 after being accused of hobnobbing with the then Vice President Joyce Mujuru who was also expelled for fomenting a palace coup against Mugabe.
Mutinhiri left ZANU PF to form his own political party after Mugabe’s removal from office through a popular coup.
The duo was officially readmitted to the former liberation party on Tuesday.
