A ZANU PF social media activist has chided the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Prof. Mthuli Ncube.
Ncube has been castigated for talking too much and crossing into the role of the Central Bank.
He has been likened to the infamous former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Gideon Gono whose quasi-fiscal activities reportedly brought the economy crashing to the ground. Writing on Twitter, the ZANU PF activist said:
Mthuli Ncube talks too much. He crosses over into the role of the central bank, talking about monetary policy, which he should not do.
He should focus on fiscal issues, which require his full attention. Does he want to be a central bank governor too? We can’t repeat Gono conduct!
Ncube was recently quoted by an American Television channel, Bloomberg TV as saying that Zimbabwe will have a new currency within 12 months.
