A state witness, Dr. Washaya has exonerated the former Minister of Former Health and Child Care, David Parirenyatwa of criminal abuse of office charges.
Parirenyatwa is argued to have acted in a corrupt manner when he introduced new ways of tendering medicine.
Among other things, Parirenyatwa is being accused of ordering the termination of Ms. Flora Nancy Sifeku’s contract as managing director of the company. He also the appointment of Newman Madzikwa as acting managing director of NatPharm.
During cross-examination by Advocate Deepak Mehter, Dr. Washaya justified Parirenyatwa’s conduct.
