A Concession was hauled before the court on allegations of violating the Domestic Violence Act after he poured sand in his ex-wife’s plate of sadza.
Morgen Tshabangu (42), of Banif Farm in Concession, committed the crime after his wife denied him food, saying that there was no share for him.
Tshabangu was also charged with contempt of the Protection Order Act.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges before magistrate Nyasha Machirori, who remanded the matter to May 8 for trial.
The state prosecutor, Munyaradzi Nengomasha alleged that Tshabangu visited Svetile Kamtemon (34) whom he found eating Sadza. After she refused to give him a portion, Tshabangu was enraged resulting in an altercation between the erstwhile couple.
