The late would-be Cardiff City FC player, Emiliano Sala’s father has died of a heart attack according to reports from Argentina
Horacio Sala (58) died only 3 months after his son, Emiliano, died aged 28 when his light aircraft crashed en route from Nantes (France) to Cardiff (Wales).
Sala’s body was pulled out the aircraft wreckage in the English Channel on February 6 – more than two weeks after it disappeared.
The mayor of Progreso – Horacio’s home town said that Sala’s father has failed to come to terms with his son’s death. Mayor Julio Muller is quoted as saying:
He could never overcome what happened to Emiliano. When the body was found he thought the case would be closed – but all the news that came to light about the pilot was very difficult.
According to UK tabloid, The Sun, Sala was flying from Nantes to Cardiff after making a club-record £15million transfer to the Premier League strugglers when the plane disappeared on January 21.
On February 3 the wreckage of the Piper Malibu N264DB was discovered in the English Channel, finally giving Sala’s family some answers.
