National hero, Velaphi Misheck Ncube will be buried on Thursday at the National Heroes’ Acre. Ncube who was a member of Zanu-PF National Consultative Assembly died at the United Bulawayo Hospitals last week aged 80.
He was one of the pioneer freedom fighters under the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (Zipra).
Ncube’s family plans to have all funeral services in Bulawayo before his body is flown to Harare on Wednesday night for burial. Retired Assistant Commissioner Claydon Seulah, the family spokesperson revealed that they had consulted the government on the provisional burial date. He said:
Tentatively we’re planning to have all the funeral services done here in Bulawayo before his body is flown to Harare on Wednesday evening in preparation for burial at the National Heroes’ Acre on Thursday.
Ncube is survived by his wife Margaret, nine children, 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mourners are gathered at 70590 Lobengula West in Bulawayo.
