Malema Sees Similarities Between Ramaphosa & Mnangagwa
A South African opposition politician has drawn parallels between the country’s President Cyril Ramaphosa and Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Speaking to a South African news channel as the counting of ballots from Wednesday’s elections nears completion, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema said:
The ANC has been losing votes even after Ramaphosa was elected President. That Ramaphoria is not working for anything.
FeedbackThe ones that they have won with 70% they now win them with 50,8% like Mnangagwa.
I think Ramaphosa’s direction is going to be like Mnangagwa’s direction of winning 50,8% or something if he wins. That is what ANC is doing.
The ANC is set to win close to 60 per cent of the vote, with the main opposition party, the Democratic Alliance (DA) losing some ground.
Malema’s EFF is a distant 3rd though it has grown its support base by almost 100 per cent since the 2014 general elections.
