Cyclone Idai left many schools and other structures destroyed. UNICEF is assisting schools in coping with the crisis. It has assisted in providing peer and learner support resource materials for teachers and workbooks for students to help them cope with the aftermath of the Cyclone Idai. Posting on Facebook, the organisation revealed that at the most-affected schools, the first few weeks of the new term will focus on psychosocial activities. UNICEF also indicated Teachers at Dzingire Primary School underwent extensive training prior to the opening of school to prepare them for this. Watch the UNICEF Zimbabwe video below.
