Analysts have described MDC Congress voters as rational people for voting for capacity. South Africa-based academic and researcher Pedzisai Ruhanya described the Congress as a reunification of the party that has been splitting lately.
Speaking to the Daily News, Ruhanya said:
Well done (Nelson) Chamisa for running a credible congress that produced solid and credible leadership. You have shown the world how to run elections; no shenanigans, manipulation.
This was a reunification. Those who failed and refused to read the calls by MDC supporters were swept aside. MDC Congress voters are rational. They considered capacity, regional balances, past party fissures, gender in electing their leadership. They refused to celebrate mediocrity. Now elected officials must deliver.
Political analyst Maxwell Saungweme said that he is impressed by the composition of the leadership which he said is balanced.
