Spotlight Shines On Marvelous Nakamba After Impressive AFCON Debut
Warriors and Belgian club, Club Brugge midfielder, Marvelous Nakamba has been a revelation at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations and his profile seems to have risen astronomically.
Soccer journalists in England have tipped the 25-year-old for great things.
Shane Callaghan, writing for Here is The City (HITC), a website which covers football and other stories said:
It looks like Aston Villa have set their sights on a quality footballer. Zimbabwe lost their Africa Cup of Nations opener to Egypt but a reported Aston Villa target stole the show.
The 25-year-old was stunning in and out of possession for his country and justified the reports about a £20 million price-tag.
… Nakamba was watched by millions last night and it seems plausible that bigger clubs than the Villans may become involved if he continues to impress throughout the tournament.
Alex Dicksen, writing for The Birmingham Mail, which is based in the city of Birmingham where Aston Villa is also based, said:
He was instrumental in the 2018 league title of Club Bruges. He arrived at Bruges as the player with the highest number of ball recoveries in the Eredivisie.
Unfortunately, this year’s been a year of injuries for him. He lost his place in the starting line-up because of injury.
But it was clear from the start, when he arrived in June 2017, that he was bound for physically demanding leagues like England, Germany or France.
