'We Win Or Lose As A Team, Musona Not To Blame For Warriors Defeat'
Following criticism directed towards Warriors captain Knowledge Musona for the 1-0 loss to Egypt, former Lancashire Steel player, Simbarashe Dhliwayo said that it is unfair to single him out for the defeat.
Musona was dispossessed within his own half, with the incident resulting in the goal that gave the Pharaohs the slender victory.
Speaking to The Sunday Mail, Dhliwayo, who is the coach of Red Yellow Blue Academy in Banket, said:
Egypt is not a small team and they were playing before their home crowd. We did well, given that they have high profile players in their team.
Musona’s situation is very normal in football. You play as a team and lose as a team and it’s not like they also did not plan to contain him.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are now third on the Group A log after Uganda beat DRC 2-0 on Saturday in the other group match.
