Roaming Lions Strike Fear In Plumtree

Villagers in Plumtree are living in fear of lions after over 10 cattle were killed last week.

The lions have wreaked havoc in the Makhulela and Ndolwane areas in the district.

The pride of lions was first noticed last week after it attacked and killed cattle grazing in the veld.

The petrified villagers informed Bulilima Rural District Council (RDC) which sent a team of hunters to track the lions. The team is being assisted by Zimparks rangers.

Bulilima RDC CEO John Brown Ncube on Saturday revealed that the ravenous lions are yet to be located while Zimparks spokesperson Tinashe Farawo said their rangers were hunting for the lions.

The lions are thought to have escaped from Mabhongwane Game Park, which borders the two villages.
