The revolutionary party ZANU PF is satisfied with its performance in the just ended Bikita East Ward 31 and Nyanga South Ward 26 by-elections where it retained both municipal seats by landslide margins.
The results did not come as a surprise as they only confirmed the trouncing victory the Party expected. The winning trend since the Cowdray Park municipal by-election in Bulawayo stands as the barometer for future polls and the writing is clear on the wall that the Party is well set in pole position ahead of the 2023 national polls.
It is evident that whilst the opposition MDC-A in all its manifestations continue on its disruptive path in which calls for demonstrations, stay-aways and unconstitutional removal of a constitutionally-elected government have become the order of the day, ZANU PF policies underpinned by fruitful economic, political, constitutional and legislative reforms are selling well to the electorate.
The party is pleased with the peaceful environment which characterised the elections period. Congratulations go to the people of Bikita East and Nyanga South constituencies for the political maturity demonstrated during the election period.
The Party especially commends ZEC for the professional manner in which they conducted the by-elections.
