Warriors “super fan” Alvin Aluvah Zhakata was presented with a VIP ticket for the Afcon final between Algeria and Senegal on Friday by CAF president Ahmad Ahmad.
Zhakata travelled the 11 000km-journey from Harare to Cairo by road and faced several obstacles along the way.
As a result, he reached Egypt several days after the Warriors had exited the tournament at the Group stage.
After starting a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the trip back home, Zhakata got his expenses covered including a flight ticket to return to Zimbabwe.
