Khama Billiat Is Not On The Market - Kaizer Chiefs Coach
While some reports from South Africa claim that Kaizer Chiefs winger, Khama Billiat is set for a shock return to former club Mamelodi Sundowns, the Daily Sun quotes Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp as saying that the Warriors winger is not going anywhere.
Interest in Billiat rose exponentially following his scintillating performances at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Egyptian club, Zamalek were reported to have tabled an R23 million offer for Billiat’s services while Raja Casablanca and an Angolan Club registered interest in the Zimbabwean forward.
However, Middendorp told the Daily Sun that no amount of money will prise away Chiefs’ prized assert. He said:
We are in front of a season, we have put a lot of thinking and strategies in place and at this time there is no way to move into a direction of saying, Khama Billiat can go because the money is coming in.
No! And that’s very clear!.
I was never confronted with any offer or whatever. And there’s no way to give the go-ahead from the technical team at the moment to release players like Khama Billiat or other players.
Billiat is contracted to the Soweto giants until 2021.
