The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) says that a man from Insuza torched a hut where a family of eight were sleeping. The suspect then went out and hanged himself. Police said in a statement:
In Insuza, on 24/07/19 a family of eight escaped unhurt when the hut they were sleeping in was set on fire by a 33-year-old man.
This follows a misunderstanding between the 33-year-old man with one of the family members who was his girlfriend.
The man was found dead, hanging from a tree branch, the following day.
Members of the public are urged to solve their disputes peacefully and not resort to violence.
In another development, police said that five suspects were arrested for a spate of robberies committed in Kadoma and Sanyati. Police said in a statement:
Five suspects, Tongai Kaurai (28), Maxwell Mangena, Trust Ndunduma, Prince Chiweshe and Nesbert Mazise were arrested in connection with a spate of robbery cases which they committed in Kadoma and Sanyati.
The quintet was targeting motorists and their passengers in the robbery cases were property (cash, cellphones, metal detector, groceries) worth $10 888-00 was stolen and $4 820-00 was recovered.
