Several names have been suggested as replacements to former Warriors coach, Sunday Chidzambga, who recently resigned.
Some of them are Norman Mapeza, Lloyd Chitembwe, Charles Mhlauri and Joey Antipas.
ZBC News suggests that it is, however, former Warriors coach, Charles Mhlauri, who is considered the favourite to land the job. Mhlauri was the second coach to take Zimbabwe to the Africa Cup of Nations in 2006 after Chidzambga in 2004.
Mhlauri was later fired in 2008 after failing to take the Warriors to the AFCON of 2008.
ZIFA Communications Manager, Xolisani Gwesela, however, said that the selection of a coach has some procedures that the association will thoroughly follow. Gwesela said:
There are processes that have to be followed. There was a meeting at the weekend and it was agreed that the technical committee will meet on 3 August to review performances and come up with a way forward following Chidzambwa’s resignation which the association accepted.
