Bulawayo Textile Company Invests US $5.2 Million
Archer Clothing Manufacturers, a Bulawayo based textile company has invested US $5.2 million into its operations’ expansion and is set to employ some additional 1,000 people. The company says the money is going to go into electrical infrastructure so that they don’t have to rely on the national power utility company, ZESA.
Said Managing Director Jeremy Youmans:
So far, we have invested about US$5,2million. We are about to complete the upgrade of the electrical infrastructure and a 1 500kVA generator which will re-open the opportunity to employ another 1 000 people if the orders can be achieved to feed that. That will take Archer to 2 000 with Paramount at 1 500 employees.
FeedbackArcher exports to Germany, South Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique.
