You Cant Desire Quick Fixes While Neglecting Fundamentals - ED
During his public address at the national shrine yesterday, the President said his thrust to economic recovery was addressing fundamentals like production at the moment. Speaking to The Herald The president said:
To desire quick-fix manoeuvres neglecting fundamentals will be grossly dishonest and a betrayal to the future prospects of our children.
Going forward, my Government is now concentrating on increasing production efficiencies across all the sectors of the economy starting with agriculture, which is the mainstay of the economy. This will be followed by the mining sector which is the main foreign exchange earner for the country
FeedbackThe President was speaking at the sidelines of Mthuli Ncube’s Transitional Stabilisation Program that they introduced last year as a way of resetting the economy that had been destroyed during the Mugabe era.
However, his statements are coming at a time where Zimbabweans are suffering, with many basics either in short supply or beyond the reach of ordinary citizens.
