Mamelodi Sundowns Confirms Plan To Sign Billiat From Chiefs
ABSA premiership club, Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed ongoing talks with Kaizer Chiefs over the possible transfer of Zimbabwean striker, Khama Billiat.
Soka25east.com quotes Sundowns acting general manager, Yogesh Singhi as saying:
This is a sensitive matter, and we have mutual respect for Kaizer Chiefs – so I won’t be disclosing too much information.
FeedbackBut what I can tell you is that we have been in ongoing discussions for some time now about Khama Billiat.
Rumours of Billiat’s possible return to Sundowns have rumbled throughout the close season and with the South African premiership window set to be closed on August 31, everything is still possible.
Singhi was not willing to shed more light on the ongoing discussions. He said:
What I can say is that the transfer window ends on August 31 and obviously, all over the world players are moving during this period and it is no different here.
If there’s no movement beyond that, then it is what it is. And the respect between the two clubs will remain.
Billiat has not yet featured for Kaizer Chiefs this season. His coach, Ernst Middendorp said:
He will be available for selection on the 24th of August. I can assure you the player knows and he’s fully aware of the process, even the chairman knows how we are managing the situation.
