OpenZimbabweans React To: Mighty Warriors Match Boycott

Earlier today, the Zimbabwe senior women’s soccer team, the Mighty Warriors, boycotted an Olympic qualifier match against Zambia. The boycott was an apparent protest over unpaid bonuses due to the players from ZIFA.
Here are some notable reactions to the boycott:
Women’s football in Zim hit an all-time low today as the team boycotted Olympic qualifier v Zambia in Harare over unpaid dues. Zifa accuses players of breach of contract and tried to raise an alternative team this morning.Zamiba say “it’s very disheartening as Zim are our icons.
It surely will be awarded to Zambia and the Mighty Warriors will probably get a ban of some sort. Zifa offered to reschedule to 10am tomorrow, but Zambia are leaving tomorrow.

About time! #MightyWarriors have been treated like trash in this country and we say #equalpay for them. min @KirstyCoventry this is unacceptable and indeed necessary that they didn’t show. Treat women in all employment with fairness as equal as men. ZIFA must act!
We need to fire Mnangagwa’s son-in-law & all the people at SRC then shut the offices.
Then we fire sisi mai Ella & shut the Sports ministry offices. Then we find truly competent people serious about sport (management) in #Zimbabwe to take over.
Zim football thrown into chaos as The Mighty Warriors boycot their Olympic Qualifying game against Zambia in Harare. Its time for SRC to disband Zifa & let Fifa ban Zim Football so that we can put our house in order. We are an embarrassment to the world
There is no way the Mighty Warriors would have failed to play the Olympic qualifier if @KirstyCoventry and govt wanted them to. This is clear turf war and sabotage by the govt to justify their intention to take over ZIFA. That’s Zimbabwe for you!
I am super proud of the #mightywarriors for not showing up! About damn time they sat it out! They should pay them right mxxxxxmmmm🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
ZIFA does not pay players, they get prize money from cosafa but still refuse to pay the players . The mighty warriors have done the correct and right thing by boycotting this match, the women are the first in history to do so and well done.
Sadly they are allowed to get away with it. Women’s football is supported by FIFA someone is pocketing funds. @fifa is sometimes wrong when it blocks reprimanding criminals who are running our football in the name of interference.
Football in Zimbabwe under Failton ‘s @online_zifa is headed nowhere.
