Colleagues Mourn Hamid Dhana
Fellow legendary footballers who played with and/or knew Hamid Dhana have mourned one of their own. Speaking to the Herald several footballers who spoke to the publication expressed their sadness over the departed footballer’s passing.
David “Yogi” Mandigora said:
I can’t say much at the moment. It’s a sad day. We got along very well. He was a very nice guy and I was disappointed when he left for Black Rhinos. We played together at Dynamos and the national team.
FeedbackCharles Mabika dedicated yesterday ‘s match between Dynamos and Highlanders to Dhana and Madinda Ndlovu who was said to be under the weather in Botswana.
It is a shock to me because he seemed to be on the mend. Football is a loser. He was one of the finest midfielders this country has ever produced, He was a jovial fellow. I remember him during the Warriors’ trips, he was always cracking jokes. My deepest condolences to the Dhana family, his football legacy will live forever
Muzukuru’s close friend Charlie Jones said:
It’s very sad to lose a legend of his calibre. We will sadly miss him. He was always a gentleman and a close friend
Dhana died at his Harare home yesterday after a long battle with cancer.
