Hwange Power Station Output Increases

The refurbishment of unit 5 at Hwange Power Station has seen electricity generation increasing to 500 MW up from 300 MW before the exercise, the Chronicle reports. This was revealed in a statement by ZPC which read in part:

Following the refurbishment of unit five at Hwange Power Station, the station is consistently running 5 units at an average of 500 megawatts. Unit six is expected to return to service in December.

Hwange Thermal Power Station has a capacity to produce 920 MW from its 6 units. Currently, unit 6 is down and expected to be functional in 2 months time.
