ARTUZ Demo Date Clashes With The Start Of ZIMSEC October EXAMS
Amalgamated Rural Teachers of Zimbabwe have called for a demonstration on the 14th of this month. The date is, however, clashing with the start of ZIMSEC October Examinations.
It was probably an oversight or short sight on the part of ARTUZ or it was a deliberate move meant to disrupt the examinations as the association invited all teachers to participate in the demonstration.
Teachers are demanding a sustainable remuneration saying their current salaries have since been eroded by inflation.
Meanwhile, the secretary-general of the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ), Raymond Majongwe has said that the government is not even keen to engage its workers.
Teachers will be joining doctors who went on strike 37 days ago also demanding better salaries and a conducive working environment.
