Eleven men who are accused of assaulting a police officer, Ttatenda Sibiya in Harare on the 12th of October have been remanded in custody pending bail hearing this Wednesday.
The accused initially appeared before the courts on Monday and were remanded in custody to today when they again appeared before Harare Magistrate who rolled over their matter to tomorrow for a bail hearing.
It is the State’s case that the accused assaulted the police officer at the Chicken Inn outlet at corner Kwame Nkrumah and Julius Nyerere declaring that some areas near the Morgan Tsvangirai House were a no go area.
It is further alleged that the accused fleed to Robinson House where police helmets and council security helmets were later discovered.
