The parliament of Zimbabwe has been blamed for not debating and passing 6 bills in the First Session of the 9th Parliament by 26 September 2019.
The bills are:
- Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency
- Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Amendment
- Coroner’s Office
- Freedom of Information
- Marriages and,
- Zimbabwe Media Commission
Commenting on the lapse, Zimbabwean international trade lawyer and former consultant to the Emmerson Mnangagwa government, Petina Gappah said:
4 key laws essential to economic recovery and constitutional reforms have lapsed because Parliament has done nothing. I am especially gutted about ZIDA. What a lost opportunity!
