MDC president Nelson Chamisa said the struggle for change in Zimbabwe is not about himself but about the people of Zimbabwe.
He said this on Saturday while addressing the party’s belated commemorations of the International Day of the Girl Child at Morgan Tsvangirai House. He said:
The issue is about the people of Zimbabwe. It’s about the women of this country, it’s about the citizens of Zimbabwe. Even if they remove me or eliminate me from the matrix, they will not have eliminated the will of the people, it is the will of the people that matters.
Chamisa has often come under attack from ZANU PF-aligned civil society organisations on allegations of failing to respect women.
Recently, his wife, Sithokozile, wrote a stinging letter to the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe for saying that she had been humiliated in public by her husband.
