ZANU PF secretary for administration Obert Mpofu said that the ruling party will not negotiate with MDC president Nelson Chamisa outside the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) platform.
Mpofu revealed this during an interview with The Herald’s Joseph Madzimure. On being asked on the discussions with the MDC officials who visited him at ZANU PF headquarters, Mpofu said:
We told them that if they are serious about engaging us, they should do so formally, but they should come through the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD).
If they want dialogue they should indicate some seriousness and if they want to engage President Mnangagwa they can only do that under the auspices of POLAD.
Mpofu said he will not disclose the names of the MDC officials who visited him. He added that the “envoys” did not submit any written documents but only produced party membership cards.
