Nehanda Radio columnist, Sibanengi Dube has said that the opposition MDC wants the removal of sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by Western countries and those imposed on the country by the ruling ZANU PF removed.
Dube observed that the ruling Zanu PF, through “bad governance, illegitimacy, corruption, abductions, and state-sanctioned human rights abuses” has brought great suffering to the general populace. He added:
MaChinjas want both internal and external sanctions to go.
The country is in a comatose state largely due to selfish and corrupt leaders who lack popular electoral mandate from the majority of Zimbabweans. At the core of the national collapse is a crisis of leadership, crisis of governance and crisis of legitimacy.
He also claimed that Zimbabwean crises are a result of a “visionless and unpopular government” rather than sanctions imposed by Western states on “individuals” or “restrictions on international financial support.”
Dube said that only good governance practices can help the country to rise from its woes.
