Liverpool Overcome Arsenal On Penalties After 10-goal Thriller
Liverpool overcame Arsenal 5-4 on penalties following a 5-5 draw in regulation time in a Carabao Cup fourth-round tie played on Wednesday night at Anfield Stadium.
The Reds’ winning spot-kick was converted by young striker Curtis Jones in a contest that will live long in the memory.
Liverpool were all but out of the tournament as they were trailing Arsenal 5-4 in the 94th minute when Belgian forward Divock Origi converted for the Scousers to take the match to penalties.
The scorers of Liverpool’s goals were Shkodran Mustafi (6 og), James Milner (43 pen), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (58), and Divock Origi (62, 90+4).
