The vice-chairperson of the opposition MDC, Job Sikhala has been indicted for trial on charges of plotting to remove president Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government from 27 to 31 January 2020 at Masvingo High Court, Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) reports.
Sikhala who is being represented by the ZLHR has since urged party supporters to attend the hearing in solidarity with him.
He said that he and his party were fighting against the system that deprives citizens of their rights and freedoms.
The Zengeza West legislator was charged with subversion after he allegedly told party supporters at a rally in Bikita Masvingo that the MDC would overthrow Mnangagwa before 2023.
