"Govt Knows What It Needs To Do To Turn The Country's Fortunes Around" - News Day
News Day editorial of the 2nd of November has claimed that the government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa knows what it needs to do to turn around the fortunes of the Southern African country.
It further attributes the government’s failure to address teething issues including the soaring inflation, the cash crisis, water shortages, power cuts and unemployment rate to lack of political will on the part of authorities. Part of the article reads:
Just to show how inept this government is, it is quite clear, and they know what they are supposed to do because they made those very promises ahead of last year’s elections. One does not require any public relations whitewashing to fulfil their own pledge. And anyone with a little sense in their head would know that.
FeedbackThe article also noted that the government has not shown enthusiasm in fighting corruption which is known for its adverse impact on the economy.
News Day believes that once the government starts implementing the necessary political and economic reforms, everything will positively respond.
