Local Govt Minister Sets Up A Commission Of Inquiry For Gweru City Council
Minister July Moyo has set up a commission of inquiry to look into Gweru City council Newsday reports. The commission will look into the affairs of City of Gweru which includes service delivery and corruption allegations.
The development was confirmed by Gweru Mayor Josiah Makombe who said:
Yes, there is an investigation team that is coming, but it is not true that they want Gwatipedza to be back in office.
FeedbackActually, I was aware of such a team coming because we discussed that with the minister before.
The development came a few days after the city’s suspended town clerk Elizabeth Gwatipedza appeared before an independent tribunal to answer on corruption allegations.
