A member of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s (RBZ) Monetary Policy Committee, Eddie Cross, on Monday said that the Central Bank will introduce small denominations to make it difficult for the production of counterfeit notes of the new currency.
Cross said this while responding to a question in an interview with Star FM’s Linda Muriro.
He also said that higher denominations will be with high-end security features will be introduced in the next few months.
The RBZ on Monday revealed that it will issue a new $2 coin on 11 November 2019 to circulate alongside existing bonds notes and coins and new Zimbabwe Dollar notes which will be issued in the near future.
