Newly-appointed Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities Daniel Garwe said that his ministry will focus on buildings houses.
Garwe added that the construction industry has the potential to turn around the economy as it creates a massive amount of jobs. He said:
Our mandate is to turn around the economy and the construction industry plays a critical role in turning around the economy.
Construction provided instant job creation and instant wealth creation and the employment was less reliant on technology and more on hard work.
Garwe was one of two ministers and six deputy ministers who were sworn into office by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday.
The swearing-in of the ministers followed a cabinet mini-reshuffle by Mnangagwa on Friday last week, with no minister dropped from cabinet by a few being moved to other ministries.
