Six people have died on the spot after a commuter omnibus and a haulage truck collided this morning along Beitbridge road in Mwenezi.
ZBC News reports that the accident happened at Sosonye Bridge, 174 km peg along Beitbridge road.
Mwenezi District Development Coordinator, Mrs Rosemary Chingwe confirmed the accident adding that bodies of the diseased have been taken to Neshuro Hospital.
The Harare-Beitbridge highway which is in a poor state has recorded several accidents which claimed many lives.
Authorities have been postponing the rehabilitation of the road citing lack of financial legroom.
Recently, the Minister of Transport, Joel Biggie Matiza announced that the rehabilitation of the road was now underway after reaching an agreement with local contractors.
