We Hate Mthuli Ncube's Hypocrisy - Doctors
Secretary-general of the Zimbabwe Hospitals Doctors Association (ZHDA) Dr Mthabisi Anele Bhebhe says doctors have no problem with Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube as a person but detest his hypocrisy.
While Mthuli Ncube believes that his austerity measures are the panacea to Zimbabwe’s economic challenges, he has not taken the “painful medicine” that he has administered to citizens. Said Bhebhe:
We have no problem with Mthuli Ncube as a person. What we find distasteful is his hypocrisy.
FeedbackThat he keeps his family in Switzerland, while we are forced to swallow this bitter medicine he calls austerity
That, for his plan to succeed, we mustn’t be paid for our hard work. No!
Doctors at public health institutions have been on strike for over two months demanding that the government restores their pre-October 2018 salaries (which were in United States dollars) or pay them in local currency at the interbank rate.
Meanwhile, Minister Ncube reportedly stays in a hotel and his family is in Switzerland and he has the privilege of visiting it regularly using taxpayers’ money.
