"The 2020 budget Marks The Exit From Austerity," Mthuli Ncube

Finance Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube has said that the country was now ditching the infamous austerity measures.

Presenting his 2020 budget in Parliament this afternoon, Ncube said that the budget targets growth stimulation and employment through promotion of production-oriented investment and productivity, without losing focus on fiscal responsibility.

His remarks are a strong redolence of what he and President Emmerson Mnangagwa have been saying over the past few months.

Authorities have often emphasised the importance of rains to the growth of the economy noting that Zimbabwe is an agrarian economy.

They also said that rains are critical for power generation which is significantly low in the country as water is rapidly shrinking at Kariba Dam.
