Heavy winds which swept most of the Eastern parts of Zimbabwe last night are reported to have vandalised Kwirire school in Chimanimani East, Manicaland.
The sad development was confirmed by Manicaland provincial education director, Mr Edward Shumba who told The Herald in an interview this morning that the district schools inspector advised him that four blocks had their roofs blown off. He added:
There were classes that were repaired after the cyclone and I am made to understand that these were not destroyed. We are not yet in a position to close the school.
The school is one of the schools which were this year destroyed by tropical cyclone Idai which left Manicaland Province devastated.
The province is yet to count its losses and recover from the tragedy as some residents are still missing, since March.
