Canadian NGO, Sets Up A Piggery Project In Matabeleland North To Help Local Vulnerable Children
Canada-Zimbabwe Project Society has teamed up with Zimbabwe Project Society and has funded a $20000 piggery project at a school in Matabeleland North Province to help the vulnerable children in the society.
The school, Mbembeswana 1 Primary in Bubi, which has 807 students and 23 teachers is headed by Mr Masukume who expressed his gratitude over the project while speaking to Sunday News:
We started searching for donors in 2017 to fund the school’s piggery project with no luck but early this year we managed to get hold of agricultural-orientated projects Canadian donors who managed to assist us with two breeding pigs, drugs and feed worth $20 000.
FeedbackThe school has also received a science kit that contains instruments pertinent to the piggery project from Government in collaboration with Unicef.
This comes just a few short weeks after a report by UNESCO says over 12000 primary school children dropped out of school because they can’t afford to stay in school.
