ZANU PF will continue to sabotage all Parliamentary Committees chaired by MDC-Alliance MPs until the opposition party recognises President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
This was said by Zanu PF Chief Whip in the National Assembly Pupurai Togarepi in an interview with OpenParlyZW. He said:
The MDC Alliance legislators should know that what they do to President (Emmerson) Mnangagwa we can as well do that to them, they do not have the monopoly to snub and sabotage others, we can as well do that.
… What happened on Friday is just a teaser to what they should expect, I can guarantee you that no committee which is being chaired by an MDC-A member will proceed until they recognize President Mnangagwa.
Last week ZANU PF legislators disrupted the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) which is chaired by Harare East legislator and MDC vice president Tendai Biti in retaliation for the opposition party’s boycotting the 2020 Budget presentation which was attended by President Mnangagwa.
PAC was supposed to hear oral evidence from Sakunda Holdings on the alleged abuse of about US$3 billion allocated to the Kuda Tagwirei-owned company under the Command Agriculture and Presidential Input Scheme programs.
