MaShurugwi, Al Shabaab & Team Barca Top Chiefs, Churches Indaba
Traditional leaders and churches met recently in Gweru, Midlands province in a bid to find ways to end machete wars which have spread across the country among artisanal miners.
In a statement released after the meeting, Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) spokesperson Tinashe Gumbo said:
The summit resolved to work to promote peace in the province, including addressing the machete wars issue.
FeedbackThe meeting was also attended by Midlands Provincial Affairs minister Larry Mavima, National Peace and Reconciliation Commission chairperson, Justice Selo Nare and his deputy, Lilian Chigwedere and various government officials.
MaShurugwi, Al Shabaab and Team Barca are some of the terror gangs making headlines in the violence that has reportedly claimed over 100 lives in the past four months.
