Ziyambi Threatens G40 Remnants With Expulsion
Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Ziyambi Ziyambi has warned members of the G40 faction that they face expulsion for destabilising the party.
Speaking to The Herald, Ziyambi asserted that the ruling party will not risk its destruction for the sake of keeping its support base. He said:
Going forward we will detail everything that these people are doing and recommend that they are expelled.
FeedbackWhile our desire is to ensure that we maintain our support base and recruit more, we can’t allow forces that will destroy the party to persist.
The G40 or Generation 40 is a group of Zanu-PF politicians that was believed to be working against the possibility of Emmerson Mnangagwa (Lacoste Faction) succeeding the late former president Robert Mugabe as president of Zimbabwe.
Before Mugabe’s demise, the group was thought to favour Mugabe’s wife, Grace, taking over from her husband as president.
