Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has been admitted to hospital for treatment of an infection. No further are available but he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1997. His last appearance in the public was last month when he welcomed the springboks home after winning the World Cup in Japan.
Tutu is popularly known as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist.
