The late former president Robert Mugabe’s stepson, Russell Goreraza, has been listed as a surviving child of the late national hero’s alongside his three biological children, Bona, Robert and Bellarmine Chatunga.
This was said by the Mugabe family lawyer Advocate Terrence Hussein of Hussein Ranchod & Company following a brief meeting held between the Master of the High Court and the family on Thursday morning. Commenting about Russell’s inclusion, Hussein said:
You don’t have to dramatise the issue, of course, he was not Mugabe’s biological son but he was a son in his home. No one disputed that.
Mugabe’s first child and only daughter, Bona Chikore nee Mugabe, was appointed the executor of her father’s estate.
Mugabe’s two sons were not present at the High Court when the determination was made.
