In an event hosted today, 05 December by the airline at Joshua Nkomo International Airport, Bulawayo, prior to the first departure from Bulawayo to Johannesburg, members of the airline acknowledged the support received from key stakeholders, industry leaders and members of Zimbabwe’s travel sectors.
The event attended by the Mayor of the City of Bulawayo, His Worship, Cllr. Solomon Mguni, distinguished guests, members of corporate Zimbabwe, Trade Partners and more, the airline was acknowledged and commended for the success of the new route, with keynote messages from His Worship, the Mayor Cllr. Solomon Mguni.
The airline representatives, acknowledged during their respective engagements that the new international direct route would not have been possible without the support, encouragement and guidance positively received from the, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment Tourism, Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Air Service Authority, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Zimbabwe Airport Authorities, City Council of Bulawayo, Bulawayo Publicity Association, Beautiful Bulawayo Trust, local Captains of Industry, members of the Trade and Hospitality industry and multiple travel communities.
The new fastjet direct route from Joshua, Nkomo International Airport will increase fastjet Zimbabwe’s international schedule to OR Tambo International Airport, a known gateway to Africa with 22 additional flight frequencies per week added to our current International schedule.
The 1-hour 20-minute flight schedule will provide a much-needed full day link between the two cities, with convenient morning and evening flights from both cities every weekday with a well-considered evening schedule on Sundays. The planned flight timings on offer will most definitely maximise the productive business time for travellers.
