ZRP has given MDC the green light to have their rally in Mutare’s Chisamba Grounds in Sakubva, Daily News reports. The rally was okayed with stern conditions according to the party’s Manicaland spokesperson, David Panganayi who spoke to the publication and said:
The police in Mutare have approved the party’s notice to hold a star rally to be addressed by the people’s president Nelson Chamisa in terms of the new law, Mopa. We are excited by this development as you will know the president has not been allowed to address rallies or gather- ings across the country for what we know are not justifiable reasons.
While the approval has been verbally given, it has not been without its fair share of strict conditions synonymous with previous ones. Conditions like people coming to the rally will not be allowed to hoot or make noise deemed to be nuisance, as violating such may attract the regulating authority to withdraw the approval and stop the rally.
This will be the first rally that the MDC will hold ever since August when ZRP issued prohibition notices to any of their applications.
