Pepsi Benefits 22 000 Zimbabwean Families

An Indian beverages manufacturer, Varun Beverages, said it has directly employed 1 000 local people, while 1 500 women have been empowered financially through the allocation of vending trolleys.

Chairman for Varun Beverages, Ravi Jaipuria, revealed that over and above that, 22 000 families have benefited directly and indirectly from the company. Speaking at the launch of the Pepsi plant in Harare on Friday, Jaipuria said:

There are 1500 women empowered financially by allocating them vending trolleys.

There are 20 000 retailers and vendors who get Pepsi products across Zimbabwe. We are happy that 22 000 families benefited directly and indirectly from Varun beverages.

Varun Beverages manufactures carbonated drinks which include Pepsi, Mirinda (all flavours) Mountain Dew and Seven Up. The products are the most trending and cheaper soft drinks on the market.

In November last year, the company commissioned a manufacturing and bottling plant in Harare to increase production.
